LALLY DECLARES VICTORY FOR EAST NORTHPORT IN PUBLIC HOUSING CONTROVERSY

"I applaud the Pataki administration in their recommendations for housing money," declared Grant Lally, Republican candidate for Congress. "I have met with and communicated with Governor Pataki and top members of his administration regarding this issue. I was happy to see that Matinecock Court, in it's current form, will not be funded this year."

"This is a victory for all the residents of our district," Lally continued. "Today we saw a rejection of Gary Ackerman and his allies at Housing Help who would condemn good people to sub-standard rental public housing."

"Now we can move forward to ensure that no project is built that does not provide for the American dream of full home ownership," Lally continued.

"I am proud to be on the same team as Ginny Volpe, A Better Community Civic Association, Assemblyman Flanagan, Councilwoman Reilly, and all the others who stood together for the best interests of East Northport," Lally continued.

"Gary Ackerman does not even live in our district and he tried to strong-arm a public housing project in our community," Lally continued. "This is arrogant and it's wrong."

"Today is a victory for East Northport," Lally continued. "I am happy that I had the opportunity to defend the good people of East Northport, and I look forward to fighting for the best interests of our Congressional District in the future."
